Green Hotel joins Radisson Individuals portfolio

Radisson Hotel Group has added the Green Hotel in Kinross to its Radisson Individuals brand.

The historic Perthshire property, originally an 18th Century coaching house, is situated within 5,000 acres of land.

The hotel currently features 46 guest rooms and two 18-hole golf courses. Management plans to add 14 further rooms by 2027 as part of a wider programme of interior enhancements.

Located 30 minutes from Perth and 50 minutes from Edinburgh, the site includes the 1567 Restaurant and Jock’s Bar.

The property also contains three meeting rooms capable of hosting 80 people for business events.

The hotel is located near Loch Leven, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned during the 16th Century. Other local landmarks include the Glenturret Distillery and Scone Palace.

Joep Peeters, chief operating officer franchise EMEA at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Green Hotel into the Radisson Individuals family, it is rich in heritage with historic charm and a distinctive character housed in an idyllic Scottish setting.

“The hotel is an exciting addition to our portfolio and reinforces our commitment to providing guests with exceptional experiences in some of the world’s most rewarding destinations.”

Andre Kontou, general manager of Green Hotel, added: “Joining Radisson Individuals is a significant milestone for the hotel. We are incredibly proud of our heritage and our place within the Kinross community, and this next chapter allows us to enhance our bedrooms and public spaces while staying true to the traditional Scottish hospitality our guests value.”

Dean Charalambous of Artemis Hotels Management concluded: “Green Hotel has always been defined by its heritage, warmth and its position at the heart of a remarkable part of Scotland

“This evolution allows us to share that story with a wider audience through Radisson Individuals, while remaining firmly rooted in traditional Scottish hospitality. It is a natural progression for the property, not a reinvention.”

News Analysis

Radisson Hotel Group’s recent addition of the Green Hotel in Kinross to its Radisson Individuals brand reflects the group’s ongoing strategy of expanding its footprint in Scotland. This move echoes previous announcements regarding the launch of Radisson Individuals in Scotland, where Radisson aims to leverage local charm while maintaining the individuality of its properties.

The transformation of the Green Hotel aligns with Radisson’s approach towards heritage properties, a pattern set by its earlier acquisition of The Station Hotel in Perth. Both hotels share a historical significance, with the Station Hotel being one of the original British railway hotels, as highlighted in previous reports. By integrating such properties, Radisson strengthens its narrative of celebrating local culture and history while enhancing guest experiences.

Joep Peeters’ comments on enhancing traditional Scottish hospitality signal a calculated shift towards catering to a demographic seeking authenticity, a strategy corroborated by the recent launch of Radisson Blu in Perth. This focused evolution highlights Radisson’s aim to remain relevant in a competitive market while firmly anchoring itself in the regional narrative.
