HQ Hotels and Residences has announced it will open a $100m (£74.5m) flagship property in Saint Lucia this November, in partnership with Wellington Estates and Wyndham Hotels.
The lifestyle hospitality brand’s property will be known as HQ Cas En Bas Resort and Residences. It will mark the second residential signing for the brand following a recent launch in Miami.
The company, which was created by founder Sam Nazarian and musician Marc Anthony, opened a 34-room hotel in New Orleans and a resort in Antigua earlier this year. It plans to open three more resorts by the end of 2026, bringing its global portfolio to seven properties.
The Saint Lucia development will consist of 96 freehold studios and apartments built around a central swimming pool. Local authorities have granted preliminary planning permission for a further 82 residences on an adjacent plot. This second phase will add a spa, wellness centre, and gym.
Project officials stated that over 90% of the initial phase has been sold to international and local buyers. The completed development will add 178 rooms to the island and create up to 300 permanent jobs.
The property features restaurants by Katsuya, Umami Burger, and chef Fabio Trabocchi. It is located within the Cap Estate on the northern tip of the island, near the Saint Lucia Golf and Country Club and Rodney Bay.
Nazarian said: “This resort is set to become a flagship for both HQ Hotels and Saint Lucia, attracting a new generation of aspirational travellers to the island by delivering an unbeatable social atmosphere and unrivalled guest experiences.”
Louis Lewis, chief executive of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, added: “It will raise Saint Lucia’s standing as a premier global destination, further elevate the luxury hospitality offering, help boost our economy, and enhance visitor experiences.”
