Shonali Devereaux, CEO of the Meetings Industry Association (MIA), will join as an expert panellist for the upcoming Hotel Owner Conference on 3rd November 2026 at Prince Philip House, London.
Devereaux, who was appointed CEO of the MIA in November 2024, is a driving force in the industry. Her current focus centers on leading the association alongside her high-profile sector board positions, which include serving as the vice-chair of the Tourism Alliance.
With 30 years of experience in high-profile events, Devereaux has established a strong track record across some of the world’s most major events, including the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games. Over her career, she has spent two decades holding senior leadership roles and key industry board positions.
Alongside her leadership responsibilities, Devereaux is deeply involved in industry advocacy, mentorship, and education. She volunteers with the Fast Forward 15 mentorship programme and the Meeting Needs foundation, and is a co-founder of the Diverse Speaker Bureau, where she champions inclusivity by amplifying underrepresented voices in key debates.
Furthermore, she acts as a lecturer in Events and Tourism at the University of Hertfordshire and regularly serves as an emcee and facilitator across a range of industry events.
“We are delighted to welcome Shonali to our speaker lineup for this year’s conference,” said Michael Northcott, editor of Hotel Owner. “As the industry continues to navigate a shifting landscape, having a senior leader with 30 years of high-profile event and tourism experience is paramount.
“Shonali’s extensive background, combined with her direct insight into industry advocacy, mentorship, and inclusivity, will offer our delegates an invaluable perspective on driving forward-thinking leadership and operational excellence.”

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
