Landmark London to open new spa following £4m investment

The Landmark London has announced it will open a 710 square metre spa this July, following a £4m investment

The five-star hotel in Marylebone designed the facility to attract both overnight guests and day visitors, responding to increased demand for urban wellness.

Facilities include a 24-hour gym with Matrix Fitness equipment, five treatment rooms, a relaxation zone, and a retail gallery. The thermal suite features a 34°C vitality pool with hydrotherapy jets, an aromatic steam room, a Finnish sauna, and an ice fountain.

Alex Kravetz Design, an architecture studio, designed the space using natural stone, marble, and soft lighting.

Treatments at the hotel spa include collagen-led skincare, traditional Chinese medicine therapies, and a body treatment involving stretching and acupressure. The spa will also introduce its first collection of family and junior treatments, including joint parent and child massages.

Hida Shuleta, spa manager at The Landmark, said: “This investment marks a deliberate shift in how we position wellness at The Landmark London. We are not simply enhancing the hotel guest experience but creating a spa that stands as a destination in its own right, one that resonates with Londoners as much as it does with residents.

“The ambition is to establish a space that people actively choose to visit and return to, with an offering that combines design, high-performance treatments and a more holistic approach to wellbeing in a way that reflects the evolving expectations of the luxury wellness market.”

News Analysis

The Landmark London’s announcement of a new spa facility in July comes on the heels of a significant investment and reflects a marked shift towards urban wellness. This strategy parallels the hotel’s past March 2019 multi-million pound refurbishment, which aimed to rejuvenate its offerings while preserving its historic charm.

This latest venture aligns with the ongoing evolution of The Landmark London, which has previously invested heavily in enhancements like the £3.8m revamp of its suites in March 2026 to meet luxury expectations. The synergy between wellness and luxury hospitality is increasingly defining industry standards, particularly as hotels expand their services beyond mere accommodation.

The establishment of a dedicated spa is indicative of a broader trend in the hospitality sector, where an investment in health facilities can create a competitive edge. The Landmark aims to shift perceptions from being strictly a luxury accommodation to a holistic wellness destination as indicated by its reopening strategy in August 2020. This ambition illustrates a calculated response to growing urban pressures and wellness demands.
