Dubai-headquartered investor Select Group has announced the acquisition of three Delta Hotels by Marriott golf and country club resorts, marking an increase in its UK leisure-led asset portfolio.
The deal adds 380 keys and over 900 acres of freehold land to the group’s holdings, following its previous acquisitions of The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Cheshire and Old Thorns Hotel and Resort in Hampshire.
The newly acquired assets include the historic Breadsall Priory Country Club in Derbyshire, the manor house-based St. Pierre Country Club in Chepstow, and Tudor Park Country Club in Maidstone, Kent.
All three properties were rebranded under Marriott’s Delta Hotels flag in 2023 and feature extensive 18-hole golf courses, spa facilities, and conference spaces.
Select Group has stated its intention to implement a programme of operational enhancements across the three sites.
The investment will focus on elevating the guest experience, wellness offerings, and golf operations to drive long-term asset performance.
The transaction brings Select Group’s total UK golf resort platform to more than 530 keys. The group continues to target established regional destinations with loyal guest bases and significant landholding value.
Israr Liaqat, chief executive officer of Select Group, said: “This acquisition reflects our conviction in the UK golf resort sector as a compelling long-term asset class. These are three properties with strong underlying fundamentals: established brands, quality locations, extensive grounds and loyal guest bases.
