Aimbridge Hospitality has appointed Alex Fiz as president of its Latin America and all-inclusive divisions, effective 2 March 2026.
He succeeds Leandro Castillo, who will retire on 28 February 2026 after leading the regional operations and the launch of the dedicated all-inclusive arm.
Castillo will remain with the company in an advisory capacity to assist with the transition.
Under his leadership, the group developed its Latin American platform to address specific operating requirements within the growing all-inclusive hotel segment.
Fiz joins the company following a 34-year career at Marriott International, where he held various operating and commercial roles across Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
He previously led Marriott’s all-inclusive strategy and oversaw the rebranding of several resorts in Barbados.
In his new role, Fiz will be responsible for driving growth across international markets. The company stated it remains focused on its leisure segments and building its portfolio through disciplined execution in the Caribbean and Latin American regions.
Craig S. Smith, chief executive, said: “I’m grateful for Leandro’s leadership and the progress made under his tenure. He has played an important role in shaping the LATAM business and supporting its evolution over time. His decision to retire reflects thoughtful timing following years of leading the LATAM business.
“Looking ahead, we’re optimistic about Latin America and the continued opportunity within our All‑Inclusive division. I look forward to seeing what we will achieve under Alex’s leadership.”
He added: “We see significant opportunity in LATAM and in the all-inclusive space, and we’ll earn that growth the same way we always do – through disciplined execution and a performance culture that creates incremental value for owners.”
