Kensington Hideaway has officially opened this week (2 February) as part of the JMK Group portfolio.
The 59-room boutique hotel features guestrooms themed around writers including Agatha Christie, T.S. Eliot and P.L. Travers, who are associated with the local area.
London-based studio Tonik designed the interiors using references to the local neighbourhood. The property includes decorative ink pots, typewriter key signage and bespoke joinery across the guestrooms and shared spaces.
The hotel is located within walking distance of Kensington Palace and the Natural History Museum. It also offers an all-day restaurant and bar with capacity for 35 guests, serving a seasonal menu.
Head chef Sahil has developed a food offering focused on small plates. The cocktail programme, created with Auden Hospitality, includes house signatures named after local cultural references such as Made in Chelsea.
Rohit Bisht, general manager of Kensington Hideaway, said: “We’re very excited about the opening of Kensington Hideaway. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the hotel come alive.
“Now that the doors are open, we’re looking forward to welcoming our first guests and seeing their reaction as the hotel begins its next chapter as part of the Kensington neighbourhood.”
