Clermont reopens Tower Hotel event space after refurb

Clermont Hotel Group has reopened the Tower Suite following a multimillion-pound investment at The Tower Hotel.

The operator has modernised the venue to accommodate up to 500 guests for conferences and private functions. The suite features a private entrance and views of the London skyline and Tower Bridge.

It is the largest venue in the group’s portfolio and forms part of the 801-room hotel. The project included the installation of digital signage, high-definition projection, and retractable ceiling rigging.

Company officials confirmed that the renovation is part of a broader investment strategy for the property. Plans include future upgrades to the reception area, a new lobby bar, and an external terrace. The group also intends to modernise guest bedrooms and introduce new dining concepts.

The work at the 20th Century building aligns with wider portfolio developments to update meeting and event spaces. The hotel currently offers 16 additional meeting rooms on its 12th floor.

Chief executive Gavin Taylor said: “The Tower Suite offers a versatile and modernised space in the heart of one of the city’s most desirable areas. Our teams have worked hard to bring this venue back to market and I have no doubt that this space will lead the way in London’s event scene.”

General manager Richard O’Riordan added: “It’s fantastic to see The Tower Suite open its doors after this transformation. It’s been a privilege to have been a part of this journey and congratulations to the teams involved in making this a reality.”

News Analysis

Clermont Hotel Group’s reopening of the Tower Suite follows a transformative renovation that resonates with their history of refurbishments. This multimillion-pound project builds on earlier efforts, such as the work reported in June 2025, when Red Construction Group was appointed to oversee a series of updates that aimed to modernise essential spaces within the hotel.

Historically, the Tower Hotel, which opened in 1973, has been an enduring fixture in London’s hospitality scene. The latest investment marks another chapter in Clermont’s ongoing evolution, which was underscored by their plans in July 2024 to launch VU from The Tower, a new dining experience aimed at diversifying offerings and attracting a wider clientele.

Strategically, this refurbishment reflects broader trends within the industry, where modernisation is seen as crucial for competitiveness. Clermont’s commitment to enhancing their facilities aligns with the recent refurbishment efforts at DoubleTree London, which similarly sought to attract a diverse range of guests. Such investments indicate a recognition that the landscape of hospitality is shifting, and venues must adapt if they are to thrive.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
