Mark Lewis, chief executive of Hospitality Action (HA), has joined the speaker line-up for the upcoming Hotel Owner Conference on 3rd November 2026 at Prince Philip House, London.
Lewis, who took the helm at the industry charity in December 2017, will bring an essential perspective on workforce welfare, mental health, and crisis support to the inaugural event.
Hospitality Action serves as the vital backstop for the UK hospitality sector, offering financial aid, emotional support, and guidance to past and present industry workers facing hardship.
Lewis’s dedication to the charity spans more than two decades; prior to his appointment as chief executive, he served as an HA trustee for twelve years and has continued to volunteer as an HA phone friend for the past nine years.
Before transitioning to the third sector, Lewis spent fourteen years at The Caterer magazine, the UK hospitality industry’s leading trade publication, serving first as editor and subsequently as publisher.
His diverse background also includes a decade spent as a travel writer, during which he authored Rough Guides to Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, and contributed to national titles such as the Mail on Sunday and Independent on Sunday.
The addition of Lewis to the conference programme underscores the event’s commitment to addressing the human element of hotel operations alongside commercial and investment strategies.
