Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel and Spa, a large independent hotel, has been sold to Dedigama Properties for an undisclosed sum.
The city centre hotel is located a short distance from the beach and within easy reach of the city’s university and airport.
It features 83 en suite bedrooms, a restaurant, a lounge bar, extensive conference facilities, and a leisure centre.
The sale presented opportunities for further development, including the creation of additional bedrooms as well as expansion of the leisure club.
Ed Bellfield, regional director at Christie at Co, who handled the open market sales process, said: “The sale of Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel & Spa presented a truly rare opportunity to acquire a freehold, full-service hotel in Bournemouth.
“This, combined with the capital expenditure invested in the property over recent years and the significant potential for further business growth, made it an appealing investment opportunity that attracted serious interest from a number of buyers. We wish the new owners every success with their new venture.”
