Down Hall expands wellness offering with launch of new garden spa

Down Hall Hotel, Spa and Estate has expanded its wellness facilities with the launch of The Barn Spa, an 1,800 sq ft retreat set within its 110-acre grounds on the Essex–Hertfordshire border.

The new garden spa, developed as an extension of the hotel’s existing Eden Spa, aims to attract a wider range of guests, including couples, solo travellers, families and expectant mothers. It features five treatment rooms – including one for couples – and an outdoor relaxation terrace linked to the estate’s kitchen garden, where some of the botanicals used in treatments are grown.

The Barn Spa is operated in partnership with the wellness brand Bramley through its Skin by Bramley line. Treatments use the company’s vegan, cruelty-free and B Corp-certified products, and the partnership includes therapist training and retail support to maintain service standards.

Signature options include the Selenite Crystal Body Massage, the Rejuvenate Ritual – exclusive to The Barn Spa – and the Bespoke Bramley Facial. The menu also offers “Mini Me” treatments for children aged five to 16, and pre-natal therapies. A series of day packages, such as Unwind and Dine and Sip and Shine, has been introduced to extend guest stays.

Linden Beattie, general manager of Down Hall, said: “The Barn Spa represents an exciting new chapter for Down Hall’s wellness journey. As an extension of our popular Eden Spa, it allows us to broaden and elevate our offering further, all within a setting that celebrates nature.”

Chloë Luxton, founder of Bramley, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Down Hall on The Barn Spa. The setting is the perfect backdrop for guests to experience the benefits of essential oils and botanicals in a calming, restorative environment.”

The development further integrates the estate’s gardens into the guest experience and strengthens Down Hall’s wellness credentials.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
