The Daffodil Hotel and Spa reappoints former GM

The Daffodil Hotel and Spa in Grasmere has reappointed Andrew MacKay as general manager as part of a relaunch of its wedding offering.

MacKay has returned to the four-star hotel a decade after first holding the role. He is known locally and has previously worked at a number of country house hotels in Cumbria and Yorkshire, including the Devonshire Arms Hotel and Spa, Linthwaite House, the Samling and Swinton Park Estate.

The hotel, which is now part of the Crerar Hotels Collection, will host weddings for up to 150 daytime guests and 50 evening guests. Ceremonies can also take place on the shores of Grasmere.

Located near Ambleside, the Daffodil Hotel and Spa includes a lakeside terrace and spa with a thermal pool, sauna, steam room and Temple Spa products.

Crerar Hotels owns 10 properties across Scotland and the Lake District, including Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa, Golf View Hotel and Spa, Fonab Castle and the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa.

MacKay said: “Returning to The Daffodil Hotel and Spa is a pleasure. I have very fond memories of this hotel and I’m delighted to be back at the helm of this well-known property. “It’s an exciting time as we look towards welcoming couples back to tie the knot in this picture-perfect location, which was once a very popular wedding destination for those looking to get married in the Lake District.

“We’re also proud to be part of Crerar Hotels, which is a collection of four- and five-star hotels and inns in Scotland and the Lake District. The hotel group is committed to developing the hotel and its offering by repositioning and investing, especially in our new wedding services. “I’m looking forward to breathing new life into the wedding experiences and the hotel itself. There is a great team in place here, and guests will receive excellent hospitality no matter if they’re staying for a wedding, spa break or family staycation.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
