W Hotels has opened a new location in Florence, Italy, featuring 119 guest rooms and various dining options.
W Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, has announced the opening of W Florence, located in the heart of Florence, Italy. The hotel is situated in the former Grand Hotel Majestic on Piazza dell’Unità Italiana, near major attractions such as the Duomo and Basilica di Santa Maria Novella. This marks the brand’s second property in Italy, following the opening of W Rome.
The W Florence features 119 guest rooms, including 16 suites and one Penthouse. The hotel features both indoor and outdoor spaces, highlighted by a central courtyard and a rooftop garden that offers panoramic views of Florence. The building, originally designed by architect Lando Bartoli in 1968, has been renovated by Genius Loci Architettura to meet LEED Gold and WELL Silver sustainability standards.
The hotel offers several dining options. Tratto, a contemporary Italian restaurant, will operate on the ground floor and throughout the hotel, including room service. Zefiro Rooftop, set to open in late summer 2025, will offer a mix of craft cocktails and small bites, accompanied by stunning city views. Additionally, Akira Back, offering contemporary Japanese and Korean cuisine, is also scheduled to open in late summer 2025.
W Florence includes the brand’s signature gym, FIT, equipped with cardio and strength-training equipment available 24/7.
The hotel also offers flexible meeting spaces suitable for a range of events, from intimate gatherings to large corporate functions.
The opening of W Florence is part of W Hotels’ ongoing expansion in Europe, following recent openings in Prague and Budapest.
