Hospitality platform Zedwell has announced plans to open a new hotel in central Oxford as part of a nationwide expansion strategy.
The company will occupy Oxenford House, a six-storey building located between Cornmarket Street and George Street. The 22,000 sq ft site sits near the Ashmolean Museum and Gloucester Green Market.
Oxford attracts more than 7 million visitors annually. The city supports an innovation economy across biosciences, healthcare and technology, including the £6bn ‘Motorsport Valley’ automotive cluster.
The hotel will feature a fully automated guest journey including self check-in kiosks and digital key access. Rooms include soundproofing, air purification systems and ambient lighting designed to reduce noise and light pollution.
The platform uses AI-powered WhatsApp assistance to support guests. This Oxford site forms part of a development pipeline intended to reach 9,000 rooms by 2028.
