Zedwell opens largest capsule hotel in Piccadilly Circus

Zedwell, a capsule hotel brand, has officially opened a new location in Piccadilly Circus, which is being described as the largest of its kind in the world as it offers nearly 1,000 individual rooms.

The Zedwell Capsule Hotel Piccadilly Circus, launched by property investment firm Criterion Capital, is located inside the Grade II-listed London Pavilion. The building has been redeveloped to house compact, windowless rooms designed for short, affordable stays in the centre of the capital.

The opening marks the first phase of the project, with further floors and new amenities due to be added over the coming months. The scheme forms part of Criterion’s wider plan to invest in and redevelop sites across the West End.

The capsules are built from sustainable oak and feature Hypnos mattresses, Egyptian cotton sheets, smart climate control and filtered air systems. The hotel also provides communal areas, women-only dormitories, shared bathrooms with private shower stalls, luggage storage and laundry facilities.

Rates start from £30 a night, with corporate and group bookings also available. Criterion said the location was chosen to appeal to both business and leisure travellers, with West End theatres, restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Halima Aziz, head of hotels at Criterion, said: “This is an exciting milestone for both Criterion and Zedwell. Our capsule concept introduces an entirely new way to stay in London – affordable, sustainable, and experience-driven.

“We’re proud to preserve the legacy of the London Pavilion, while opening a new chapter in its story. Over the coming months, we look forward to unveiling new enhancements and bold ways we’re taking the space to the next level.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
