The owners of the Watergate Bay Hotel Will Ashworth and Ben Harper have revealed that they have sold its self-catering brand Beach Retreats for an undisclosed sum.
Watergate Bay started the company in 2006 and has sold it to the holiday lettings group behind holidaycottages.co.uk, Travel Chapter.
The company has a managed portfolio of individual properties of more than 500 across south west UK in prime locations in Cornwall and North Devon. The company also owns and operates a number of apartments and holiday cottages.
Beach Retreats has been headed up by managing director Andrew Easton since October 2012.
Harper said in a post on LinkedIn: “We’re so grateful to the Beach Retreats teams for their work and commitment in growing the business, and a special thanks to Andrew Easton for his leadership through the last 13 years.
“Whilst we’re sad to see the Beach Retreats team move out of the group, we’ll still be neighbours in our Cornwall office and I know the team, brand, partners, owners and guests are in good hands with Travel Chapter.”
Jayne McClure, Travel Chapter CEO added: “Beach Retreats is a brand we’ve admired for a number of years. Their commitment to curating high-quality properties with a service-first mindset aligns perfectly with our vision at Travel Chapter.
