The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta will rebrand as The Westin Playa Vallarta in May 2026 and will become an all-inclusive resort.
The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta is scheduled to undergo a transformation into an all-inclusive resort, with the rebranded property, The Westin Playa Vallarta, set to open in May 2026. This development marks the first all-inclusive offering for the Westin brand in Mexico.
The resort, located on 14 acres near Marina Vallarta and a short distance from Puerto Vallarta International Airport, is currently undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation. The project aims to revamp the existing facilities and introduce new amenities, including 281 redesigned suites. Among these, 30 will feature private plunge pools, and 16 will be swim-up rooms.
The renovation will also include the addition of 10 culinary and entertainment venues. These will range from an open-air cocktail lounge to various social hubs and retail spaces. The resort will offer both adults-only areas and family-friendly spaces, catering to a diverse range of guests.
The transformation is part of a broader strategy to enhance the property’s offerings and attract a wider audience. The resort will feature upgraded recreational facilities, including refreshed pools, pickleball and padel courts, and a fitness studio. The Heavenly Spa will provide wellness treatments designed to rejuvenate guests.
The Westin Playa Vallarta will join the Westin all-inclusive portfolio alongside the Westin Playa Conchal in Costa Rica. The resort will continue to operate under its current format until the transition is complete, with bookings available through April 2026.
