The Tawny Hotel in Staffordshire has launched the ‘Owlets’, a cluster of historic farm buildings redesigned as five family cottages with a shared heated swimming pool, private alfresco dining and garden activities.

Each has been named after a British butterfly: Meadowfold, Silverleaf, Duskhollow, Bluebell, and Amberwing.

They include several numbers of bedrooms, with a minimum of one and a maximum of four.

The new cottages were once part of Basford Hall Farm, with the farmhouse – now Meadowfold – dating back to the 17th century.

Under Louise Platt Interiors, they have been redesigned to blend their heritage features with contemporary luxury, characterised by nature-inspired palettes, stone tiles and floral patterns.

They have additionally been decorated by handmade cabinetry, copper freestanding baths and Coralie basins from The London Basin Company.

Outside, each cottage has its own private garden with a BBQ and alfresco dining area, along with a Jacuzzi spa bath.

Guests staying in the Owlets will additionally have access to a year-round heated swimming pool in the gardens, as well as a shared courtyard designed for families with games and activities such as a giant chess board.
