The St. Regis London appoints exec committee ahead of opening

The St. Regis London has appointed its executive committee as it prepares to open its first London property in mid-2026, marking a key step in the redevelopment of the former Westbury Mayfair hotel.The hotel will be led by general manager Marco Novella, who was appointed in 2024 and has more than 20 years’ experience in luxury hospitality. His previous roles include senior positions at Hotel Cipriani in Venice and The Lanesborough in London.

Novella is overseeing the conversion of the Westbury Mayfair into a 195-room hotel positioned as a flagship for the St. Regis brand in the UK market, targeting both international travellers and London residents.

He said: “I have been honoured to build the finest team at The St. Regis London to bring this iconic brand to life in one of the world’s most dynamic cities. We aim to create a destination that captures the spirit of Mayfair while celebrating the timeless elegance for which St. Regis is renowned.”

Patrick Mudalige has been appointed hotel manager, responsible for day-to-day operations. Mudalige joins from Four Seasons and has more than 30 years’ experience in luxury hospitality, having worked across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Summiya Chaudary has been named director of human resources, joining from The Lanesborough where she was director of people and culture. She will oversee recruitment and workplace culture as the hotel builds its pre-opening team.

Marketing will be led by Romy Turkington, appointed director of marketing following a period at W Hotels in London. Turkington is a recipient of Marriott International’s Global Elite Award and will be responsible for the hotel’s brand positioning in the London market.

Michael Blin has been appointed director of sales and distribution. He previously worked on the launch of 1 Hotel Mayfair and has more than 20 years’ experience in London’s luxury hotel sector.

Revenue strategy will be overseen by Monika Sancewicz-Klis, appointed director of revenue. She joins from her role as luxury cluster director of revenue strategy for Marriott Hotels, where she worked across multiple international properties.

Engineering operations will be led by Oybek Rozmetov, appointed director of engineering from The Lanesborough, while Ashok Rao joins as director of finance. Rao has worked with Marriott since 2004 and most recently held senior finance roles across two London luxury hotels.

The St. Regis London is located at the corner of Conduit Street and New Bond Street and will feature 195 rooms, including 66 suites. Facilities will include an all-day restaurant, a jazz bar and private dining spaces.

The redevelopment, designed by Richmond International, includes two additional floors, expanded public areas and a new façade. Signature St. Regis elements such as butler service and brand rituals will be adapted for the Mayfair setting.

St. Regis Hotels and Resorts was founded with the opening of The St. Regis New York in 1904 and now operates more than 61 hotels and resorts worldwide. The London opening will become the brand’s first property in the UK capital.
