The Kensington Hideaway, a refurbished 59-room boutique hotel, is set to reopen in Kensington, London, in January 2026 following a multi-million-pound redevelopment.
The new hotel, previously known as the Seraphine Kensington, has been redesigned around a literary theme that references the borough’s historic links to writers including William Makepeace Thackeray, Agatha Christie, T.S. Eliot and P.L. Travers.
The hotel is located near Kensington Palace, the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History Museum.
The property will also introduce a new 35-cover restaurant and bar, offering a menu of modern dishes and a cocktail list influenced by the hotel’s literary concept.
The Kensington Hideaway will open in mid-January 2026 with a soft launch ahead of a full opening event later in the year. The investment represents a significant update for the building under its owners, JMK Group.
