Staycity enters Munich market with Weisses Quartier lease

Staycity Group has signed a long-term lease to open its first Munich location within the Weisses Quartier development in the south-east of the city.

The agreement covers approximately 11,000 square metres and will feature 255 fully equipped rooms. It represents one of the largest leasing transactions in Munich in recent months.

The development is located near the Werksviertel district and the ‘new balan’ campus. It has direct transport links to the city centre, the Ostbahnhof, and the airport.

Property owner Allgemeine Sudboden and joint venture partner ESR Europe recently completed an energy-efficient refurbishment of the site. This included the addition of a new top floor.

Staycity operates across the DACH region in cities including Berlin, Frankfurt, and Vienna. The Munich site will feature a repositioned brand concept focused on the upscale segment.

The group has established science-based targets to reduce carbon emissions by 59% by 2034. It aims for an interim reduction of 50% by 2030.

Andrew Fowler, chief development officer at Staycity, said: “Munich is one of the most important hotel markets in Germany and has long been a central part of our expansion strategy. Entering this market is a significant milestone for us. The Weisses Quartier, with its location, excellent accessibility and building quality, provides ideal conditions for our aparthotel concept.

“The Weisses Quartier is the first location in Germany where we are rolling out this concept. The community aspect is particularly important to us – we don’t see ourselves as an isolated aparthotel, but as an active part of the neighbourhood, bringing urbanity and vibrancy to the surrounding area.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
