The Chequers Inn, a 16th Century country inn in the Peak District has been brought to market for a guide price of £750,000 plus VAT.
The site, which sits within the Peak District National Park, has been run by owners Jonathan and Joanne Tindall for almost 25 years.
The pub combines a traditional bar serving local ales with an 80-cover restaurant and an 80-cover woodland garden. Its food offering has held an AA Rosette for more than 20 years.
The property also includes seven en-suite letting bedrooms, providing an additional income stream alongside the food and drink business.
Jonathan and Joanne Tindall said: “We are very proud of what we have achieved at The Chequers, but it’s time for us to explore other interests whilst we still have the energy. Chequers is a robust business which continues to perform very well, and in the right hands will no doubt continue to flourish. In the short term, it’s very much business as usual”
The sale is being handled by property adviser Christie and Co. Alex Rex, associate director at Christie and Co, added: “The property has been a pub on record since the 1700s and the current owners have been in situ for over 20 years, having established a fantastic business.”
