Ox Pasture Hall, a country house hotel and wedding venue near Scarborough, has been purchased by new owners Wesley and Chloe Nunns, after it entered liquidation in early 2025.
The property, situated on 17 acres on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, includes 39 bedrooms, a restaurant, a purpose-built wedding barn, and a spa facility with a heated indoor pool and gym.
The new owners, who have a background in accountancy, stated they intend to reopen the business as a wedding destination.
The transaction was completed following marketing efforts initiated by Claire Foster of Revive Business Recovery.
Legal support for the deal was provided by John Morgan at Hay and Kilner and John Cooper at Wilkes.
Specialist business property adviser Christie and Co managed the sale of the hotel. Mark Worley, director of hotels at the firm, noted that demand for the site “remained healthy” despite its closed status at the time of the transaction.
Wesley and Chloe Nunns said: “We are excited to begin our journey with the hotel and bring it back to life. The hotel holds a lot of sentimental value for us, as we got married here ourselves ten years ago. We know the hotel has potential and we hope to become one of the wedding venues in North Yorkshire.”
Worley added: “Despite Ox Pasture Hall being in liquidation, we knew that the demand for a hotel of this size in this location would be healthy. It was an opportunity for the right buyer to restore the building and the business, and we are delighted to announce the sale to Wesley and Chloe Nunns.”
