Minor Hotels has entered a joint venture with SUNRISE Resorts & Cruises to develop up to 50 hotels in Egypt over the next decade.

Minor Hotels has announced a joint venture with SUNRISE Resorts & Cruises to expand its presence in Egypt. The agreement aims to develop and manage up to 50 hotels over the next ten years. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathi.

The joint venture will focus on both urban centers and leisure destinations in Egypt. Planned locations include West Cairo, Azha Ras El Hekma on the North Coast, and Azha Ain Al Sokhna. As part of the agreement, Minor Hotels will begin managing seven projects, which include operational hotels, brownfield conversions, and greenfield developments. The expansion will feature the introduction of Minor Hotels’ luxury brand, Anantara Hotels & Resorts, in various locations across the country.

In addition to hotel development, the partnership will extend Minor Hotels’ expertise to Nile cruise operations in Aswan and Luxor. This move builds on Minor Hotels’ existing river cruise operations in Asia, such as Mekong Kingdom and Loy Pela.

The joint venture represents a strategic effort to capitalize on Egypt’s growing tourism sector, which is experiencing increased investment and global interest. The collaboration combines SUNRISE Resorts & Cruises’ local knowledge with Minor Hotels’ international reach.

The new entity aims to enhance Egypt’s tourism infrastructure, aligning with the country’s Vision 2030 goals. The partnership underscores confidence in Egypt’s economic prospects and its appeal as a travel destination.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
