MGallery is set to open a new hotel in the Valmorel ski resort in the French Alps by 2027, marking its first mountain location.
MGallery, part of Accor, has announced plans to open a new hotel in the Valmorel ski resort in the French Alps. The property, expected to open in 2027, will be the brand’s first mountain retreat. CLR Hotels, a subsidiary of the CGR Group, is leading the project.
The architectural design for the hotel has been assigned to Bertrand Pourrier of ABP Architectes, which operates out of La Rochelle and Paris. The firm is known for its contemporary designs and commitment to sustainable architecture. The project will align with RE2020 standards and aims for certifications such as BREEAM, focusing on the use of bio-sourced and local materials.
The hotel will feature 82 rooms, including a significant number of suites, and will offer direct access to the ski slopes. The location is set on the edge of a pine forest, providing views over the valley. The design will incorporate elements inspired by Savoyard heritage, using materials like wood, stone, and tartan.
Amenities planned for the hotel include a fine dining restaurant, a main restaurant with a terrace, a bar, and a speakeasy. A 480-square-meter spa will offer both indoor and outdoor pools, and additional facilities will include a dedicated ski and snowboard room, a private screening room, and a relaxation area for après-ski activities.
The project emphasizes environmental sustainability and aims to integrate harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. It will focus on energy efficiency and the use of local materials. The development will also include staff facilities with 43 housing units, providing 80 beds, and a restaurant.
MGallery’s strategy involves selective growth, and this new hotel is part of that approach. The brand currently operates over 120 boutique hotels worldwide, with 37 located in France and six more in various stages of development within the country. The Valmorel property will be MGallery’s first venture into mountain resorts, expanding its presence beyond coastal, urban, and heritage locations.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
