Mandarin Oriental has appointed Brad Berry and Philip Leighton to senior roles within its development team, as the group strengthens its focus on branded residences and luxury home offerings.
Berry will become head of residences and homes from June 2025. He brings more than 25 years’ experience in luxury real estate and branded residential development, most recently as vice president of global residential development at Rosewood Hotel Group.
His career includes leadership roles at PortLiving, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and Kingdom Hotel Investments, with experience spanning North America, Europe and the Middle East. Berry will report to chief development officer Francesco Cefalú.
Meanwhile, Leighton will join as head of Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes, reporting to Berry.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in luxury hospitality and travel, including launching Villas by Bailey Robinson and helping to develop Abercrombie and Kent’s ‘Private Estates’ business.
The appointments come as Mandarin Oriental expands its global presence in residential living.
The group said branded residences and its Exceptional Homes portfolio remain central to its development strategy, as it looks to extend its signature service beyond hotels into private living spaces.
Cefalú said: “Brad and Philip bring a wealth of knowledge across different sectors to Mandarin Oriental and will be key cornerstones of our future growth in the residential and Exceptional Homes business. I look forward to welcoming them to the Mandarin Oriental team and seek their guidance to continue driving our future growth.”
