Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed Emlyn Brown as group director of spa, leisure and wellness, as part of its strategy to expand and enhance guest wellbeing services.
Brown joins from Accor, where he spent seven years leading global wellbeing strategy, design and development across luxury and lifestyle brands.
Most recently, he served as global senior vice president for wellbeing, overseeing initiatives that integrated wellness throughout the customer journey.
He has also held senior roles with Resense Spa, GOCO Hospitality, Six Senses and Jumeirah Group, working on spa, fitness and wellness projects worldwide.
Brown’s appointment follows the departure of Jeremy McCarthy, who served as group director of spa, leisure and wellness for 11 years.
In his new role, Brown will focus on shaping the group’s wellness offering to strengthen guest experience and operational performance.
In a LinkedIn post, Brown said: “ Voila! That’s a wrap. After seven incredible years, my journey with Accor comes to a close. What an adventure it’s been – leading wellbeing globally across brands and working alongside so many talented, passionate and committed colleagues who made the vision of wellness not just a goal, but a shared company imperative.
“Wellness has become central to how guests experience hospitality. I look forward to building on Mandarin Oriental’s strong heritage and helping to shape the next generation of spa and wellness services across the group.”
