Liverpool’s Cooper’s Building to become 148-unit aparthotel

Libere Hospitality Group (LHG) has announced it will oversee the repurposing of the Cooper’s Building in Liverpool into a new aparthotel, its second urban managed property in the UK.

The Spanish medium and short-stay hospitality management company said the Grade II-listed building will offer 148 studios, comprising 141 studio units with kitchenettes and seven featuring dedicated coffee stations.

Designed in 1914 by architect Gerald de Courcy Fraser, the building originally housed Coopers and Co department store until its closure in 1972. It has since been used as retail and offices.

It is distinguished by its sandstone facade, square tower with Mannerist detailing and arched entrance.

LHG said its renovation will preserve the building’s heritage features, including mosaic tiled floors, coffered ceilings, ornate cornices, glazed wall tiles, and timber block flooring while adding modern upgrades for guest comfort.

The property has a basement and six upper floors, four of which will be converted for LHG’s project.

Located in Liverpool city centre, it is located near shopping facilities as well as Lime Street Station.

John Harrington, LHG business development director for the UK and Ireland, said: “We are delighted to bring Líbere’s innovative aparthotel concept to this dynamic destination known for its maritime, football and musical culture.

“The city draws visitors from around the world with the iconic attractions, and ready-made entertainment where Libere offers flexible, high-quality accommodation for both leisure and business travellers alike.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
