In a recent development, KSL Capital Partners has taken a majority interest in the Soneva Group. This move expands on KSL’s previous minority investment in the group in November 2019, indicating their sustained belief in Soneva’s long-term strategy and unique approach to high-end experiential travel.
With this change in majority ownership, there is also a transition in leadership. Neil Gallagher has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer for Soneva Group. Gallagher brings a wealth of international hospitality experience, having worked across Europe, the Middle East, the U.S., and the Caribbean in his career spanning over two decades.
Before his new appointment, he was CEO and CFO at the Clermont Hotel Group. Gallagher has also had significant roles at IHG Hotels & Resorts, including CFO, Europe. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Marriott Vacation Club International.
The Soneva Group, established in 1995, operates luxury resorts and has been a frontrunner in sustainable luxury hospitality. Their properties include Soneva Fushi, Soneva Jani, Soneva Secret, and the Soneva in Aqua yacht in the Maldives.
