Fairmont Century Plaza has announced the appointment of Hiren Prabhakar as the new general manager of its Los Angeles property.
Prabhakar brings over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked with several international hotel brands. His career includes roles at Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in Mumbai and participation in the launch of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. He has also held positions such as director of food and beverage at the Polish Business Round Table Club in Warsaw.
In his previous roles, Prabhakar has managed hotel openings and operations across various regions. He led the openings of Ibb Andersia Hotel in Poland and Barvikha Hotel & Spa in Moscow. He also served as resort manager for Mövenpick Beach Resort in Saudi Arabia, which received an award for Best Specialized Resort in 2011.
Prabhakar’s experience extends to managing properties under brands such as InterContinental, St. Regis, and Marriott. During his tenure at The St. Regis Moscow, the hotel was recognized as Hotel of the Year for Marriott Luxury Brands Europe in 2016. In Toronto, he was named general manager of the year in 2019, and the hotel received several accolades, including Forbes five-star awards.
The Fairmont Century Plaza underwent a significant transformation in 2021, with a $2.5 billion renovation. The property now includes 63 luxury residences, a brasserie, a 14,000-square-foot spa, and over 24,000 square feet of event space. Prabhakar’s appointment is expected to further enhance the hotel’s operations and guest experiences.
