Hilton is set to open a 142-room Hampton by Hilton hotel in the heart of Telford’s Station Quarter in early 2027, with construction already under way.
Telford and Wrekin Council confirmed the signing of the new hotel, which will be operated by Legacy Hotels and Resorts and is expected to create up to 38 full-time jobs.
Located at the corner of Ironmaster’s Way and Lawn Central, the six-storey hotel is part of a wider regeneration project aimed at transforming land between Telford Central station and the Telford Centre shopping complex.
The multi-million pound Station Quarter scheme is backed by public and private sector partners and includes new educational facilities, housing, and business space.
The new hotel will also offer the brand’s standard features, including a bar, restaurant, and complimentary hot breakfast. It has been designed to “strengthen the town’s hospitality offer and support both business and leisure tourism”.
Construction is being led by Bowmer and Kirkland, which is also delivering 84 apartments for Nuplace, the council’s wholly owned housing company.
The wider Station Quarter masterplan includes The Quad – a digital skills and enterprise hub that opened in September 2024 – and a planned sixth form centre in the former Addenbrooke House offices.
A total of 189 homes are also being developed at the site, including 72 affordable properties and 117 for Nuplace.
Nick Smart, vice president development for the UK, Ireland and the Nordics at Hilton, added: “We are thrilled to bring Hampton by Hilton to Telford, helping to shape the town’s future as Telford’s Station Quarter goes through an exciting regeneration.”
Andy Townsend, chief executive at Legacy Hotels and Resorts, concluded: “Our experience operating both branded and independent hotels across the UK positions us well to deliver a high-quality guest experience and strong local economic benefits.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
