The College Court Conference Centre and Hotel, a Grade II-listed property in Leicester, has been brought to market by the University of Leicester for an undisclosed price following its closure last month.
Located in the suburb of Knighton, the property comprises five architect-designed buildings and sits on a 1.98-acre site. It also includes 123 en-suite bedrooms and a range of conferencing facilities.
Originally constructed in the mid-20th Century as student halls of residence, the buildings were designed by architects Sir Leslie Martin and Trevor Dannatt. They were refurbished and extended in 2014 to provide hotel and conference services, with many original features retained.
The site includes a conference centre over two floors with a dining hall, commercial kitchen, bar and coffee lounge, private dining room and 16 meeting rooms with capacities ranging from two to 200 people.
Additional facilities include a reception building with a double-height reception area, storage, four garages and office space.
Three detached buildings house the guest accommodation, and the site also includes a tarmac car park with 55 marked spaces, a covered bike store, and a gravel overspill car park with capacity for 50 vehicles.
Olivia Haslam, development director at Savills in the Midlands, said: “The sale presents a rare opportunity to purchase a versatile collection of buildings suitable for a range of uses, subject to planning. This, coupled with its superb location in the suburb of Knighton, just a few miles from both Leicester City Centre and the train station, means we are expecting interest to be strong.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
