A 58-bedroom hotel in Cheshire has been sold out of administration for an undisclosed sum, a move that will safeguard 60 jobs and keep the business operational.
Forest Hills Hotel in Frodsham was sold following a marketing process led by Landwood Group to support joint administrators at DSW Business Recovery. The deal for the hotel business and assets ensures the site remains open following a period of uncertainty for the 120-year-old venue.
The hotel and leisure complex is set within seven acres and includes a restaurant, conference facilities and a leisure club with a swimming pool. The property has a history as an entertainment venue and hosted groups including The Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers in the 1960s.
Potential buyers showed interest in the site both as a going concern and for its wider development potential. The site offers scope for further investment to enhance existing operations or for future development, subject to planning permission.
