Elite Hotels has appointed Dominic Osborne as general manager of The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne. Osborne returns to the group with almost 30 years of hospitality experience.
The appointment marks a return to the company for Osborne, who served as general manager of Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club between 2002 and 2008.
He joins the Eastbourne property from Farnborough Airport, where he most recently held the role of FBO director. Osborne previously managed the Aviator Hotel and The Swan Hotel.
His career includes senior management positions at Malmaison, Hilton and Shire Hotels. Osborne replaces the outgoing leadership at the coastal property to oversee daily operations and guest services.
The Grand Hotel is a five-star property on the Eastbourne seafront. It features 152 bedrooms and remains a central asset within the Elite Hotels portfolio.
Osborne’s return follows a period of growth for the independent hotel group. The company continues to focus on luxury service standards across its remaining properties in the south of England.
Industry analysts note that recruitment of experienced leadership is a priority for the sector. High-end coastal properties face unique operational challenges regarding seasonal demand and staffing.
The group operates several historic venues. These sites require specific expertise in heritage building management alongside modern guest requirements. Osborne’s prior six-year tenure at Ashdown Park provided him with direct experience of the brand’s internal standards.
Executive chairman of Elite Hotels Graeme Bateman said: “We are delighted to welcome back Dominic Osborne to Elite Hotels as our new General Manager of The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne. Dominic brings a wealth of experience in luxury hospitality and a proven record of leadership, and we are confident he will make a significant impact in guiding the team and enhancing the guest experience. We are pleased to have Dominic return to Elite Hotels and look forward to the expertise and energy he brings to the role.”
