The Horse and Groom, a 16th Century village inn in Upper Oddington, has been sold to an unnamed buyer, with an asking price of £1.5m.
The Grade II listed property was marketed by Colliers’ specialist hotels team, led by director Peter Brunt, who has previously overseen multiple sales of the inn.
The Horse and Groom, known for its restored interiors and long trading history, drew strong interest from potential buyers, reflecting continued demand for hospitality businesses in the Cotswolds.
The sale follows other recent transactions handled by Brunt, including the Kings Head Hotel in Cirencester and the Shaven Crown in Shipton under Wychwood.
The inn includes seven en-suite letting rooms, a restaurant, bar and lounge areas seating up to 86, a 36-seat patio, and a beer garden with a stretch tent for events.
It also offers landscaped gardens and parking for 32 vehicles.
Brunt said: “This is the kind of sale that speaks volumes about the resilience and attractiveness of the Cotswolds hospitality market. The Horse and Groom is a true gem, combining strong performance with classic appeal, and it’s no surprise that it attracted interest from high-calibre buyers.”
The former owners, Warren Turner and Norman Liu, along with business partner Darius Hulpe, now operate Russell’s of Broadway. Turner praised Colliers’ handling of the sale, citing Brunt’s “personal attention” and “sage advice”.
