Real estate lender Cohort Capital has provided a £96m senior loan facility to refinance two hotels in London and northern England.
The four-star hotels have a combined 510 beds and form part of a wider £240m restructuring involving four UK hotel assets. The refinancing is intended to support future expansion.
Matt Thame, founder of Cohort Capital, said: “These are strong performing assets in locations well insulated from fluctuations in the hospitality market. The ownership team has a clear growth vision, and we are pleased to support them.
“We remain open to new opportunities, with a healthy and growing pipeline of over £350m in new hospitality deals currently under review in the UK and Europe.”
Cohort Capital, which launched in 2020, has now deployed more than £300m in hotel loans. Previous deals include a £73m financing of the NoMad Hotel in London’s Covent Garden.
The company expects to close £150m in new lending in July, of which £70m is likely to involve central London hotels.
Since its launch, Cohort Capital has deployed £1.3bn across real estate sectors, with an average loan execution time of 15 days.
