Hand Picked Hotels has appointed Matthew Selch as general manager of Brandshatch Place Hotel and Spa in Kent.
Selch joins the Georgian country house property with more than 10 years of experience in senior hospitality leadership roles.
His career includes general manager and deputy general manager positions at Village Hotels, Q Hotels, and De Vere Hotels during its management of the Belfry. Selch began his career as a graduate with Marriott International.
In his new role, Selch will oversee the hotel’s operations and its focus on bespoke events and private hire.
The property has established local partnerships with Mount Vineyard, West Kent Shooting School, and London Golf Club to provide leisure activities and corporate incentives for guests.
Hand Picked Hotels operates a portfolio of 21 privately owned hotels across the UK and the Channel Islands.
The appointment is part of a strategy to strengthen the hotel’s presence within the Kent event and wedding market.
Selch said: “Brandshatch Place Hotel and Spa is a truly special property.
