Black Desert Resort has completed its resort center in Southern Utah, featuring 447 rooms and suites, a spa, dining options, and a golf course.
Black Desert Resort has announced the completion of its resort center in Southern Utah. The development includes 447 rooms and suites divided between a Hotel Collection and a Resort Collection. The resort center also features seven food and beverage outlets, a 15,000-square-foot spa and wellness center, an infinity-edge pool, and a 19-hole championship golf course designed by Tom Weiskopf.
The resort spans over 600 acres and offers access to nearby landmarks, including Snow Canyon and Zion National Park. It also offers over 200 acres of preserved land, six miles of hiking trails, and scenic bike paths. The resort is located near the Tuacahn Center for the Arts and the Kayenta Art Village.
Scottsdale-based Allen & Philp Architects and Madrid-based firm GVI led the design of the resort center. The architecture draws inspiration from the surrounding lava flows and sandstone mountains. The interiors feature basalt, wood tones, and glass accents, with large windows offering views of the golf course and landscape.
The resort offers three distinct accommodation options: the Hotel Collection, the Resort Collection, and the Plume Wellness Collection. The Hotel Collection comprises 148 rooms and suites, the Resort Collection features 299 rooms and suites, and the Plume Wellness Collection offers eight rooms that focus on wellness amenities.
The culinary program features seven dining concepts, including Basalt, an American steakhouse, and Latitude, an open-air eatery. Additional options include a lobby bar, a coffee and dessert bar, a rooftop lounge, a sports bar, and a poolside bar.
The Plume Spa & Wellness Center features 13 treatment rooms and a diverse range of therapeutic services. The resort also features over 45,000 square feet of meeting and event space, comprising 18 venues, including a 10,000-square-foot ballroom.
Sustainability efforts at Black Desert Resort include preserving 67 percent of the surrounding land as open space and using energy-efficient technologies. The resort has also partnered with local organizations to establish a protected habitat for the endangered Virgin River chub.
Future developments at Black Desert Resort will include additional accommodations, a water park, pickleball courts, and more dining and entertainment options. Starting rates for accommodations begin at $399 per night.
