Art’otel London Hoxton names new GM

Art’otel has promoted general manager Christian Masters to lead its London Hoxton hotel, marking the latest step in his career with the PPHE Hotel Group.Masters joined the 357-room property in 2023 as hotel manager, supporting its pre-opening phase and launch. 

He was credited by the group with helping to establish the hotel’s operations and early reputation.

He has worked in the hospitality sector for nearly 20 years, holding operational roles at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Conrad London St James, Montcalm East Autograph Collection and The Ministry, the workspace brand created by Ministry of Sound. 

His experience spans guest operations, team development and performance management.

Daniel Pedreschi, executive vice president operations UK, said the appointment reflected Masters’s “exceptional leadership” and commitment to operational standards. He said: “Christian’s promotion to general manager at art’otel London Hoxton is a testament to his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to operational excellence. 

“From pre-opening through to establishing the hotel as a thriving destination, Christian has consistently demonstrated the vision and capability that define art’otel. We are delighted to see him take this next step and continue driving success for art’otel London Hoxton.”

Speaking after his promotion, Masters added: “I am incredibly proud to take on the role of general manager at art’otel London Hoxton. Having been part of this property’s journey from pre-opening through to a thriving operation, it’s a privilege to continue leading such a talented team. 

“Art’otel London Hoxton is a vibrant and creative destination, and I look forward to building on its momentum as we deliver exceptional experiences for our guests and our community.”

Art’otel London Hoxton opened in 2024. The 26-storey hotel features work by signature artist D*Face and houses two preserved Banksy pieces on public display.
