Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa in the Northern Lake District has officially reopened its flagship restaurant, The Dining Room, following a major refurbishment.
Formerly known as the Lake View Restaurant, the revamped space is described by the hotel as offering “elegant yet welcoming” fine dining, with views over Bassenthwaite Lake.
The new interior includes royal blue banquette seating, sculptural centrepieces, intimate lighting designed to blend “traditional refinement with a modern aesthetic”.
Executive chef Christopher Lee has introduced a seasonal menu that focuses on locally sourced produce. Dishes include Beef Wellington, estate lamb loin and Dover sole fillets.
The launch follows the December opening of The Grill, a separate restaurant at the hotel offering a more casual dining experience. The two venues are intended to offer complementary options for guests.
General manager Simon Steele said: “This refresh reflects our desire to offer a dining space that feels both special and inviting. It’s about creating an experience our guests will remember.
“It’s the perfect atmosphere for romantic dinners, special occasions, or relaxed evenings with friends. Everyone is welcome.”
Set within 400 acres of private woodland and deer park on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake near Keswick, Armathwaite Hall offers what it describes as the “ultimate nature reset”.
The luxury hotel runs an extensive wellbeing programme that includes forest bathing, alpaca walking, wild swimming, moon bathing and digital detoxing – designed to help guests disconnect from city life and reconnect with nature.
