Aimbridge EMEA unveils key commercial leadership team appointment

Hotel management company, Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA, has announced the appointment of Kym Kapadia as its new senior vice president commercial.
Aimbridge said Kapadia brings “substantial commercial experience” to the role, having worked across a variety of hospitality operator types spanning owner-managed, asset and third-party management.

Previously, she spent 10 years as VP Commercial for Michels and Taylor, a hotel management and advisory business. As a founding board member, she built out the commercial disciplines within the business and was recognised for her excellent owner relations, acting as custodian for many of their primary accounts.

From there, Kapadia moved to chief commercial officer for Aprirose Real Estate and was responsible for performance and asset value of all Aprirose hotels.

Prior to these positions, she worked in senior revenue management positions across numerous brands including Hilton, Whitbread, IHG and Marriott.

Kapadia said: “I am thrilled to be joining Aimbridge EMEA in what is a very exciting step in my career. It comes at a great time for me personally, but also for Aimbridge EMEA, which is expanding its international presence while continuing to deliver outstanding guest experiences and sustainable growth for our property owners, through innovative commercial and operational strategies that drive superior performance.

“I have more than 25 years’ experience repositioning and transforming hotels and resorts, through sales, marketing and revenue optimisation, whether within brand operations, Plc or Private Equity, so I feel I bring a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to help Aimbridge EMEA, and their owner partners, achieve their overarching goals.”

She added: “I am truly excited to join such a talented and dynamic company, and I am looking forward to getting to know the team, our owners and brand partners and to play a part in the continued delivery of exceptional, world-class experiences for our guests.”

Kapadia’s appointment follows a strong first quarter for Aimbridge EMEA – the international division of Aimbridge Hospitality, welcoming nine new properties and more than 1,000 guestrooms to its portfolio since the turn of the year.

David Anderson, president – Aimbridge EMEA, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Kym to the Aimbridge team. Her wealth of experience and expertise, working across major brands and different operator types, including third-party management structures, is certain to be a real asset to Aimbridge, coupled with her people-centric leadership approach and strong focus on results.

“Kym brings with her not only an impressive CV that demonstrates transformative work for the businesses she’s supported, but also a strong reputation across the industry and with our brand partners. We’re looking forward to Kym putting her skills into action with us as a key player in the continued success of Aimbridge.”
