The Derby London City has launched on Great Tower Street, marking the eighth Curio Collection property to open in the capital.
The 234-room hotel occupies a reimagined former office building and bank, featuring interiors designed by AvroKO.
Drawing inspiration from the city’s financial heritage and the silhouette of the bowler hat, the property includes 13 signature suites with views of the London skyline, the Tower of London, and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Managed by Dominus, the hotel includes several cultural references to its historic address at 5–10 Great Tower Street.
This includes a “Golden Hour” cocktail service held daily at 5:10 p.m. and a Treasury Wall installation in the lobby, which utilises safety deposit boxes to nod to the building’s former banking functions.
Dining at the property is centered at Rycrofte’s Restaurant, Coffeehouse and Bar, which overlooks the ruins of St Dunstan in the East Church Garden.
The restaurant is named after Sir John Rycrofte, an official in the royal household of Henry VII, and serves modern interpretations of classic British dishes.
The hotel also features Mercer’s Market, a monthly event for local artisans, and approximately 100 square metres of event space.
Amenities include a 24-hour gym and two boardrooms for private meetings, as the group targets both corporate and leisure travellers within the financial district.
