BWH Hotels has announced plans to expand its presence in Africa through new developments in Morocco, Egypt, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
The hospitality group confirmed its renewed commitment to the region ahead of the Future Hospitality Summit Africa, scheduled for 31 March to 1 April 2026.
Vice president international operations Wytze van den Berg will lead a delegation to the summit to discuss regional investment and growth.
It comes as development momentum is highest in Northern Africa, with the group signing more than 25 pipeline properties in Morocco over the past 12 months.
A further 12 projects are currently in development in Egypt, while four hotel openings are scheduled for the current year.
The planned openings include two properties in Nigeria – the Best Western Premier McDons Skye Hotel and the Best Western Plus Ambience Hotel Ikeja.
Additional hotels are expected to open in Ethiopia and Tanzania as the group targets upscale and upper-midscale market segments.
Company data indicates rising investor interest driven by regional stability and projected increases in inbound travel numbers.
Van den Berg said: “Investor confidence comes with predictability. While the world is filled with uncertainties, we are seeing growing trust and confidence across many African countries.
“The continent’s future projected tourism numbers are promising and reinforce investor appetite across key markets.”
