Horwood House Hotel partners with BBOWT to boost biodiversity

Horwood House Hotel has joined the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust as a business member to support conservation across its 38-acre Buckinghamshire estate.

The partnership with the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) follows the hotel’s recent environmental initiatives, including the 2025 launch of a butterfly resort and the installation of honeybee hives.

The trust will conduct a site visit to the Little Horwood estate to advise on further rewilding, tree planting, and organic gardening projects.

The BBOWT manages more than 80 nature reserves across the region and provides conservation guidance to local landowners.

The hotel’s Investors in Wildlife membership is intended to align with its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy for 2026.

Previous sustainability projects at the site included a collaboration with social enterprise Urban Bee-lievers, which introduced 20,000 bees to the grounds.

The earlier butterfly project involved local schools and was developed in response to declining native species populations.

Caroline Morrone, general manager at Horwood House Hotel, said: “We are incredibly proud to become an ‘Investor in Wildlife’ with the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust. Protecting and nurturing our local ecosystem is a big focus for us at Horwood House.

“Following the success of our ‘Butterfly Resort’ and our work with Urban Bee-lievers, this membership is the natural next step in building on our sustainable and environmental practices for 2026 and beyond. We are delighted to be partnering with the Trust and look forward to their upcoming visit to help us maximise the potential of our grounds for local wildlife.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
