Onyx Hospitality Group has signed a management agreement for Shama Hub Ladprao, marking the first time the Shama Hub brand has been launched in Thailand.
It comes after the group officially announced its partnership with property owner Somchai Ngamdamrongkiat last week (Thursday 22 January). The project follows five years of collaboration at Shama Yen Akat.
The new development, which is the third Shama Hub in the region, features compact residences designed for urban living, including co-working spaces and social areas for residents.
The property is located in the Ladprao district of Bangkok. It is positioned to serve the long-stay segment, including business travellers and international professionals working in Thailand.
Shama Hub Ladprao joins a portfolio of 23 operating and pipeline properties. The brand operates across seven locations in Thailand, Malaysia, and Greater China.
The Shama brand ecosystem includes Shama Luxe, Shama, and Shama Hub. These segments are differentiated by room size and location to target upper-upscale and upper-middle-scale markets.
Yuthachai Charanachitta, chief executive of Onyx Hospitality, said: “The continued growth of the Shama brand reflects its strong alignment with evolving travel and residential lifestyle preferences, particularly in the long-stay segment.
“This growth is the result of Onyx Hospitality Group’s ongoing market research and brand development efforts, aimed at positioning Shama as a serviced apartment brand that genuinely meets the needs of today’s residents. Shama and Shama Hub are well positioned to serve.”
Ngamdamrongkiat added: “We believe that a residence should be more than just a place to stay; it should be a living environment that addresses every dimension of modern living.
“These qualities are clearly reflected in the Shama brand, which thoughtfully blends the modernity of urban living with the warmth and familiarity of home.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
