Teddington-based resort The Lensbury has confirmed a £10m refurbishment project to upgrade its riverside facilities, with works scheduled to begin in February 2026.
The investment will focus on the complete renovation of the 155-room resort’s Club House restaurant, reception, and guestrooms.
The programme is intended to modernise the property’s interiors while referencing its history as a training base for elite organisations, including the England Lionesses, Chelsea FC, and the New Zealand national rugby team.
Renovations will start with the reception and restaurant areas in February. Guestroom upgrades are scheduled for early spring, with food and beverage enhancements expected to finish by late spring. The entire project is slated for completion in late summer 2026.
The 25-acre resort will remain fully operational throughout the works. To accommodate the restaurant closure, hotel guests will be served breakfast and dinner in the Dunbar members’ lounge.
Meeting and event spaces, as well as the leisure club’s fitness, tennis, and padel facilities, will be unaffected by the programme.
Managed by L+R Hotels, The Lensbury was established in 1920 and currently operates as a four-star resort and conference centre.
Claire Llewellin-Davis, managing director of The Lensbury, said: “This investment marks a new chapter for The Lensbury. Our goal is to create beautifully refreshed spaces that honour the resort’s heritage while delivering an elevated experience. Our goal is to create refreshed spaces for not only our groups and elite sporting clientele, but every hotel guest.”

Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
