Belfast-based hotel The Malone is scheduled to officially reopen in early February 2026 following an 18-month, multi-million pound redevelopment of the former Malone Lodge Hotel.
The project has transformed the 103-bedroom Victorian townhouse into a four-star luxury boutique hotel.
The property is currently closed to the public to complete the final phase of works, which includes redesigned guest rooms and the launch of the Gallery restaurant and Greyhound bar.
The hotel has already received national recognition, with The Times naming the venue as one of the “24 best new hotels in the UK for the year ahead.”
The redevelopment has supported up to 20 new jobs in the Queen’s Quarter and utilised energy-efficient systems and eco-conscious materials as part of a focus on sustainability.
The Macklin family, who have owned the property for 35 years, partnered with Focus Hotels to manage the transition to a “high-end luxury model”.
The building’s history dates back to 1945 when it originally opened as The Bowness Hotel.
