Joint administrators have officially been appointed yesterday (22 January) to oversee the Colonnade Hotel in Little Venice, London.
It comes as the 43-bedroom Victorian townhouse, located at 2 Warrington Crescent, is scheduled to enter a formal marketing process at the end of the month.
Administrators Duncan Coutts, Rupen Patel and Nimish Patel of Coots and Boots intend to identify a buyer to take over the property.
Originally built as two Victorian houses in 1865, the building became a medical home in 1886. The mathematician Alan Turing was born at the site in 1912, and the property provided a residence for Sigmund Freud in 1938.
The hotel features a gated elevator which is among the oldest operating lifts in the UK.
Administrators confirmed that the primary focus is to preserve the landmark while exploring future opportunities for the business.
Coutts said: “The Colonnade is more than just a hotel; it is a piece of London’s history. Our goal is to manage this transition with the respect the building deserves.
“We are seeing significant early interest and look forward to officially bringing the property to market at the end of this month.”
