The Valley Hotel on the Isle of Anglesey has been sold to Mirza Real Estates for an undisclosed sum. The 19-bedroom hotel and event venue dates back to the 1800s, and is situated close to the port of Holyhead, attracting ferry users and tourists. It also hosts weddings and functions throughout the year.
Anglesey Inns had owned and operated the hotel for 30 years, having acquired the site from Burtonwood Brewery in 1993.
The sale comes as Mirza Real Estates, who also owns Tre-Ysgawen Hall Hotel and Spa on the Isle of Anglesey, is actively pursuing opportunities in the area.
Paul Snape of Anglesey Inns Ltd said: “We would like to thank everyone involved in our 32 eventful and challenging years at The Valley. We are glad to see that the business is going to continue, and hopefully thrive, under its new owners, who we know have excellent plans for the site.”
Takir Mirza, from Mirza Real Estates, added: “The Valley has a long, rich history, and we plan to invest heavily over the next year. All the staff have been fantastic since we took over, especially Rob, the manager.”
Tom O’Malley, associate director at Christie and Co who managed the sale process, concluded: “I am delighted to have supported in finding a new owner for The Valley Hotel. Seeing what Takir and Romana have done with Tre-Ysgawen Hall, I believe The Valley is in fantastic hands to take it forward to its next chapter.”
