Five-star Dartmoor resort, Bovey Castle, is set to host a film-themed culinary competition in which guests will judge dishes created by five head chefs from across the Eden Hotel Collection.
Bovey Castle will stage Battle of Eden 2026: A Night at the Movies on 28 February 2026, bringing together chefs from the group’s five properties to compete for the public’s vote.
The event will feature Mark Budd from Bovey Castle, Stu Deeley from Mallory Court Hotel and Spa, Tim Jenkins from Brockencote Hall Hotel, Abhijit Dalsalkar from The Greenway Hotel and Spa, and Amith Fernando from The Arden Hotel. Deeley previously won MasterChef: The Professionals.
Each chef will present a dish inspired by an iconic film, with their identities concealed during the tasting. The chefs have more than 80 years of fine dining experience between them, according to the organisers.
The competition forms part of a two-night stay for guests, beginning on 27 February. The wider programme includes film-themed activities across the estate, alongside access to the hotel’s golf course and spa facilities.
Mark Chambers, managing director of the Eden Hotel Collection: “We have chefs in our ranks who have cooked for the Royal Family, celebrities, and won major competitions, so this is a rare opportunity for foodies to experience a breadth of talent all in one night.”
Mark Budd, executive head chef at Bovey Castle, added: “It’s a real privilege working in such picturesque surroundings that wouldn’t look out of place in a movie, and we’re looking forward to a weekend of lights, cameras and food.”
